Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one capable of successfully cross the divide between pop and country, conquering the globe. Swift shed her country roots as if they were just a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, one that could tap into the zeitgeist make it personal and also perform opposite. Her talents are evident in some of the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she could identify who she is and find a wide audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in North America (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia and the U.K. and other countries. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this achievement and propelled Swift towards the top of superstardom. Swift's popularity grew through her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in an industry she felt was hers to be. She stayed at the top of pop even when she dropped her signature style in her twin albums, folklore and Evermore in 2020.
